Comparing visual health bar overlays versus numeric HP text in ESP — which gives faster information in ranked play.

Marvel Rivals — ESP
The ESP system offers two ways to display enemy health: a visual bar or a numeric text value. Both have valid use cases — choosing between them (or using both) comes down to your playstyle and how you process information.
The health bar renders as a colored rectangle beside or below the enemy bounding box. It scales from full (green or white) to empty (red) as the enemy takes damage.
Pros:
Instant visual read — no numbers to consciously process. Your peripheral vision picks up a depleting bar without requiring focused attention.
Works at a glance during fast-paced fights where there's no time to read text
Less visual clutter at medium and long ranges where small numbers are hard to read anyway
Immediate priority signaling — a nearly empty bar visually pops even without looking directly at it
Cons:
Less precise for calculating exact burst damage thresholds
Can be misleading for heroes with shield/overshield mechanics
HP text shows the exact numeric health value (e.g., 187/250) displayed as text above or beside the enemy box.
Pros:
Exact values — you know precisely when an enemy is burst-able or needs one more shot
Better for coordinating focus fire — callouts like "Iron Man at 45 HP" are meaningful to teammates
Shield tracking — seeing exact numbers helps you track through shield + health layers
Cons:
Requires reading numbers mid-fight which adds cognitive load
Small text can be hard to read at range or when multiple enemies are on screen
Solo ranked play: Use health bars. Fast reaction is everything in solo queue. The visual bar communicates health state faster than text without requiring active reading.
Coordinated team play: Use numeric HP text, or enable both. Exact callouts are more useful when playing with coordinated teammates.
The optimal setup: Enable both simultaneously. The bar gives fast visual feedback during engagements while the number is there when you have a moment to look — targeting an enemy from range, or immediately after you land the first hit.
In the config panel, both options can be enabled at the same time with independent color and position settings.
